Can they get anything right at Future Shop? Saturday's Web Deal of the Day is a 256MB Kingston Traveler USB Drive. Regular price is $34.99. Web Deal of the Day price is $4.99. That is an awesome price, but there is a catch: that is $4.99 after mail-in rebate. Fine, I click on my Web Deal of the Day email and up comes the page for the USB Drive. Sure enough, the price is listed at $34.99 with a limit of 2 per household. But there is no mention of, or a link to, a mail-in rebate. I click on Buy Now and the price of the item is now $21.99 - wow I saved $13.00 by clicking on Buy Now. Unlike the Sandisk MP3 player, the USB drive is shown as 'in stock' in the Shopping Cart. I click on the Mail-In Rebate icon in the top-right corner and search through the categories. There is one mail-in rebate for this USB drive, however it is only valid for purchases made between April 21 and 27, 2006. Future Shop must think we are all idiots.
UPDATE: As of 7:30 am, the page for the USB drive now shows a discount of $13 plus a link to the mail-in rebate. Still begs the question: why wasn't this page available at 12:01 am?
